Welcome to TheAppWhisperer’s new section, “what apps are we using this month” series, where we discover which apps you are particularly enjoying. Kicking us off today is non-other than Award Winning Mobile Artist, Damla Öksüz.
Hello, My name is Damla Oksuz (@damlaoksuzphotography), I’m a 54 year old retired banker. Since 2020 I have lived in a small town called Fethiye which is situated at the Mediterranean part of Turkey. Before that, I used to live in Istanbul.
I have always loved taking photos and after my retirement I decided to learn it professionally. I took some courses and became a member of a group called “Travelling Photographers”. I participated in several exibitions in Turkey and other countries. My interest was mostly in street and travel photography. With my group I was able to travel and take photos both of Turkey and the World.
When the pandemic started and we were not able to go outside I discovered Mobile Photography and Photography Art. And I started to learn the apps. The more I learned the more I loved. When I am traveling with my group I use a Sony A7 and I mostly do not do any photo-editing. But my iPhone and iPad are always with me and I am able to capture the daily life of ordinary people in my daily routine. I started editing with Snapseed and iColorama apps at first. I always try new styles and effects on my photos. It totally depends on my daily mood. And I try to post a new photo everyday to my instagram account.
Distressedfx, Glaze, BeCasso and Picnic are the other apps I use occasionally. I am always interested in the new apps used by the Mobile Photographers and I follow and try to learn how to use them. Nowadays, I am trying to learn Procreate and Superimpose whenever I find time but I have a long road ahead.
Thank you very much dear Joanne for your kind invite to this series and I must say I am always thrilled with your work at TheAppWhisperer.
